Asari Legal Counsel speaks at the Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum during the Youth Forum
On 26 June 2026, Evgenia Neverova, Asari Legal Counsel and National Administrator for the Russian rounds of the prestigious Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition, participated in a session dedicated to the role of legal competitions in career growth, held on the final day of the XIV Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum.
The event was organised by the International Law Faculty of MGIMO University. Representatives of law firms, academia and the broader legal community also attended.
During the session, Evgeniya Neverova shared her experience in organising and running one of the largest international student competitions in international law, which Asari Legal has supported for several years as a general partner and organiser of the Russian rounds. She also spoke about how important legal competitions can be for the professional development of young lawyers.
A lively discussion followed, where experts and students touched upon potential risks, including whether the growing number of competitions could result in a legal education that is less systematic and less focussed on fundamentals, and how much weight potential employers place on achievements in competitions.
