Case handled by Asari Legal recognised among the most significant disputes of the year

On 17 December, Kommersant Publishing House released its annual Disputes of the Year supplement, highlighting the cases that, in the editorial team’s view, attracted the greatest attention in 2025. While diverse in nature, these disputes reflect broader trends in capital flows over the past year.
Among the most significant cases of 2025, the editors recognised a matter handled by Asari Legal, in which the firm represented Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (part of the Gazprom Group) before the Commercial (Arbitrazh) Court of the Amur Region in proceedings seeking to hold Linde group companies jointly liable in tort.
The dispute concerns claims for damages suffered by Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk as a result of industrial incidents (fires) at the Amur Gas Processing Plant, one of Gazprom’s largest infrastructure projects and a key element in the system supplying gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline.
The case is significant, among other factors, due to the substantial amount in dispute and the strategic importance of the project for Russia’s gas infrastructure.
