Asari Legal Successfully Defends Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk in Appeal Against Linde in Amur GPP Dispute

On 31 March 2026, the appellate court upheld the decision of the Amur Region Commercial (Arbitrazh) Court dated 2 February 2026, which had fully satisfied the claims of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC against companies of the Linde Group.

The case was heard in closed proceedings. The claim was brought at the place where the damage occurred (in accordance with Article 247 of the Russian Commercial Procedure Code).

The dispute concerned the defendants’ joint and several tort liability for losses suffered by Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk as a result of two industrial accidents at the Amur Gas Processing Plant, one of Gazprom’s largest infrastructure projects and a key element in the system supplying gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline. The project is strategically important to the Russian gas industry, and the case is one of the largest cross-border infrastructure and technology disputes in recent years. Kommersant Publishing House named the case as one of the most significant litigations of 2025.

Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk was represented by Asari Legal Partner Dmitry Kaysin, Counsel Vasily Bakumenko, and Trainee Advocate Anastasia Basova.
