Asari Legal Partner Discusses the Development of Arbitration in RAA Series Podcast

Dmitry Kaysin, partner and co-head of Asari Legal’s Dispute Resolution practice, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Arbitration Association (RAA), was a featured guest on a recent episode of the RAA Series podcast, where he shared his expertise in international arbitration.

During the discussion, particular attention was given to the activities of the RAA, including its projects in Hong Kong and Malaysia, the preparation of amicus curiae briefs, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation with international arbitration institutions and supporting Russian teams in international moot court competitions. Dmitry also spoke about his move to Asari Legal, highlighting the shared professional approach and values among the firm’s partners.

The conversation also touched upon how lawyers should approach their work in the current environment:
“I do not support the ‘might makes right’ principle — that would lead to catastrophe… We need to build something new based on the professional standards developed by scholars of the early to mid-20th century, while taking today’s realities into account… New international organisations will emerge, and under their auspices new norms of international law will be developed.”
