The Russian rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition were held on 5\u20139\u00a0February at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Twelve teams from universities all across Russia took part in the competition.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final saw a matchup between teams from Moscow State University and MGIMO, with the latter coming out on top. Both will advance to compete with teams from other countries in the international rounds from 29 March to 5 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asari Legal was once again the primary sponsor of the competition, continuing a tradition begun three years ago. Our associates acted as judges in the Russian rounds, while Senior Associate Evgenia Neverova repeated as national administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jessup is the world\u2019s largest moot court competition, with a record 806 teams participating in 2025 in more than 100 countries. Teams represent fictitious countries, acting as both applicant and respondent before the UN\u2019s International Court of Justice in three stages: drafting written memorials, followed by the national and international rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
