Asari Legal was a first-time participant in the conference.<br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm was represented at the event by <a href=\"https:\/\/asari.legal\/en\/team\/stanislav-karandasov\/\">Stanislav Karandasov<\/a>, Partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, and <a href=\"https:\/\/asari.legal\/en\/team\/nikolaj-sokolovskij\/\">Nikolay Sokolovsky<\/a>, Associate. During the conference, Mr Karandasov spoke at a panel session dedicated to BRICS, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and the transformation of international trade and arbitration rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asari Legal\u2019s participation ensured that the Russian perspective was represented as part of an international panel that also featured experts from South Africa, Brazil, and China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agenda of JAW 2026 addressed some of the most pressing challenges facing modern arbitration practice, including geopolitical fragmentation, sanctions, investment and infrastructure disputes, and emerging technologies in dispute resolution. Participation in the conference reflected Asari Legal\u2019s active commitment to developing the international arbitration agenda and strengthening its professional ties across jurisdictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cOur participation in the conference and productive discussions with South African practitioners gave us unique insights into the jurisdiction, demonstrated that they are clearly interested in working with Russian partners, and enabled us to take a closer look at AFSA \u2014 South Africa\u2019s leading arbitral institution \u2014 as an independent alternative to more traditional arbitral institutions.
