The discussion was moderated by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asari.legal\/en\/team\/stanislav-karandasov\/\">Stanislav Karandasov<\/a><\/strong>, Partner in Asari Legal\u2019s dispute resolution practice.<br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The event focused on the <strong>specifics of resolving transport disputes in the UAE<\/strong>, both in state courts and in arbitration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Omar Omar<\/strong>, Partner at Al Tamimi &amp; Co\u2019s Transport &amp; Insurance practice, spoke about the impact of global sanctions on logistics routes, the UAE\u2019s growing role as a neutral international hub, and the increased compliance and transparency requirements following the country\u2019s removal from the FATF grey list. He also explained the practical aspects of <strong>recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in the UAE<\/strong>, highlighting procedural nuances practitioners should be aware of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Neil Hart KC<\/strong>, Barrister at Essex Chambers, shared his extensive experience handling maritime disputes under English law. He emphasised the importance of precise drafting of <strong>arbitration clauses<\/strong> and discussed practical considerations when preparing to initiate a dispute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asari.legal\/en\/team\/varvara-vojnova\/\">Varvara Voinova<\/a><\/strong>, Counsel at Asari Legal, highlighted current trends in <strong>maritime dispute resolution in the UAE<\/strong>. She addressed the significance of the <strong>UAE Maritime Law 2023<\/strong>, practical issues around ship arrest, the use of bank guarantees and P&amp;I certificates to lift an arrest, and Dubai\u2019s position as one of the world\u2019s leading maritime logistics centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session concluded with a presentation by <strong>Bushra Abu Tayeh<\/strong>, Senior Counsel at Al Tamimi &amp; Company\u2019s Transport &amp; Insurance practice, who outlined the specifics of <strong>aviation disputes<\/strong>. She discussed arbitration clauses in aircraft leasing agreements, interim measures in relation to aircraft, and practical aspects of interacting with aviation and port authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dubai Arbitration Week is a major annual international event organised by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
